Strangely enough... my life is so boring that I feel I need to share it with everyone else.

Betting Big

I am in this syndicate at work, where every week one person get to bet $20 on the races - the aim being to win big for the whole group. And I have this funny thing with the races - my dad used to be a bookie and big gambler. And since he died when I was younger whenever I go to bet I feel like I get signs from him. (Note - this is totally strange and sentimental of me as I dont believe in signs and that kind of stuff). So any way dad was a Freemason, and I swear to God I lost about $200 on a nag called Freemason who couldn't win a race to save itself. So this weekend it was my turn to bet the $20, and I put money on horses called Courts in Session and Magistrates Court (as my dad used to work in the courts). Guess What? They came back with a big fat NOTHING. They didn't even place! I dont know if this is a sign from my dad that I shouldn't be wasting my money gambling?!?! But I do know that if a horse even slightly reminds me of him I am staying the hell away from it!!

When I grow up....

My friend Emily thinks that I am the mad women of Armadale. This is because every time I see her I have just been driving through Armadale, and honking at all the idiots in their Range Rovers. However I know have a new strategy, cos I have asked Charlie to buy me a Volvo so I can be a terribly bad driver too. And since I will be in my Volvo 4WD everyone will excuse my as a “bloody volvo driver”. The plan is brilliant in its simplicity!

However, when I grow up I don’t want to be True from Kath and Kim. Dropping in to Tartine after I have dropped William and Sarah off at school, before my 1 shift a week at Minimax in High St.

I would rather be Karen Walker. Alway have a martini glass in my hand, and walk around asking peoeple "Honey, Whats that? Whats going on? Whats happening? ". Of course I would have to find myself a nice gay man and a rich old husband. Shouldn't be too hard.

My favorite Karen quote:
Honey, I often ask people on my staff to do different things. Cook sometimes cleans. Cleaner sometimes cooks. Driver sometimes provides an alibi.

Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'

I am becoming a giant butterball. I actually can't believe how fat I am at the moment. I think I have gained prob 4 kilos since we moved into this place. And before we moved I wanted to loose 5. So today is my last day before I SERIOUSLY go on a diet. I think basically if I cut out the 4 cans of coke and 2 chocolate bars a day it should help....

I am terrified of having to wear elasticised pants. Somebody promise me that if I ever walk in wearing kmart pants pulled up under my boobs you will hold an intervention.

Banned in China

A friend of mine lives in China and although I have given him the link to the blog numerous times, he can never see it. Apparently the Chinese government has a think about freedom of speech (dosen't sound like them does it?!?!). Anyway, the point is I am banned in China. I think that is pretty awesome, cos it implies that I actually write something insightful that might motivate people to rise up and revolt. Instead I mostly bitch about my netball team.

Profound thoughts....

I got a bunch of these on email today - these are the ones that made the cut..

1. Depression is merely anger without enthusiasm.
2. Support bacteria. They're the only culture some people have.
3. A clear conscience is usually the sign of a bad memory.
4. Hard work pays off in the future. Laziness pays off now.
5. Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

And my favorite .... Just remember - if the world didn't suck, we would all fall off.

Nerdz rule

Ok, so I finally caught up with all the other nerds and got wireless ADSL. So, next step is to get onto the lap top, and then the blogs will be coming thick and fast!! Yeah right, prob still going to be 6 months between installments so dont get your hopes up... But please enjoy the little I do post.

I am having a real renaisance with 80s metal at the moment - and not just my usual Bon Jovi addiction. I think it has been spurred on by Rock Star SuperNova (which is awesome BTW, and if I ever turn lesbian it will be with Storm who is HOT!). So right now I am watching the Metallica doco Some kind of Monster. And on Friday I made a crazy mix tape (actually a mix cd, but mix tape has the whole 80's ring to it) for Jaime and at work on Friday everyone was singing a bit of Chicago. Loving it!!! One good thing about working in advertising is that you can always find someone else who loves a bit of woose rock! (Joff, Jaime I am looking at you two here. Special mention for Bridget who likes a bit of Luft Balloons). This pic is for you guys.....
